In earlier entries we have been talking about self-sufficiency and energy efficiency, in which we define that one of the most important points to save energy both concepts is about conditioning the place and optimizing the resources used.
HVAC systems are installations that help us to achieve a constant thermal confort. Thermal confort is a complete state in which mental, phisical and social welfare of any being are in that place; that is to say, the good or the bad people are in the place, have not you ever been better in one place than in another, just for being in that place?
To achieve thermal confort there are some facts that have to be present in our minds, because it is an ambiguous definition, and something hardly measurable. In that case influences humans (clothes, metabolism, physical activities, etc), air (temperature, relative humidity and its renovation speed) and the space (in which are important solar radiation, exterior temperature, air circulation, occupancy, lightning and electronics).
There are several clasifications for the definition of HVAC, such as depending on its emiting system, depending on the primary or the side way it transports, depending on the air traitment… But we mainly will talk about the clasification depending on its nature, its so what kind of combustible it uses.
In this way we can notify that there are HVAC systems in which mainly fuel is used (chiefly petrol and natural gas) and HVAC systems that are based on renewal energies, that bet for the sostenibility (such as crossed ventilation -we will talk more about it in nexts posts).

Thermal insulation is one of the most important points in a HVAC system, because without it we can increase the energy needed for heating or refrigerating the place (up to 15%). However, if there is a good thermal insuration, the HVAC system that is used will be more efficient and will probably recover some of the residual energy wasted.
When this insurance is done you have to keep in mind that not just the place have to be insuranced from the exterior, only you have to use all the energy that the exterior has, so there have to be some hollows for it. That is, for example do an exploitation of the solar energy in winter and a deterrence in summer, regulated with a shutter. In vains, it is very important the carpentry and exterior insurance.
Nowadays in Spain the regulantions of HVAC systems is the law RITE (Reglamento de las Instalaciones Térmicas en los Edificios – Regulations for Thermal Instalations in Buildings), in which there are considered most of the conditioning systems and how they have to be installed.
So we can say that a HVAC system is very important for the confort of the users of any place or entablishment, that also is regulated and not necesarily has to implicate the enviroment or the outlay of the local.
